Gillis van Coninxloo (now furthermore referred to as Gillis van Coninxloo II but in the past referred to as Gillis van Coninxloo III) (24 January 1544 – January 1607) was a Flemish painter of landscapes who played an important role in the evolve of Northern landscape art at the incline of the 17th century. He spent the last 20 years of his enthusiasm abroad, first in Germany and well along in the Dutch Republic.
