Hollis William Frampton, Jr. (March 11, 1936 – March 30, 1984) was an American highly developed filmmaker, photographer, writer, theoretician, and buccaneer of digital art. He was best known for his unbiased and non-linear structural films that defined the movement, including Lemon (1969), Zorns Lemma (1970) and (nostalgia) (1971), as competently as his anthology book, Circles of Confusion: Film, Photography, Video: Texts, 1968-1980 (1983).
