13 facts about Isabella Mary Abbott

Isabella Mary Abbott Plummer (December 23, 1890 – November 26, 1955) was a Canadian performer and the mom of actor Christopher Plummer.

Abbott was born in Quebec City, the daughter of Marianne J. (Campbell) and Arthur Edward Abbott, and the granddaughter of Prime Minister Sir John Abbott. She exhibited later than the Art Association of Montreal back showing her do its stuff with the Royal Canadian Academy in 1922 and 1923. Abbott served as a volunteer nurse in France during World War I. She worked later the Canadian Handicrafts Guild as the secretary-treasurer from 1924 until February 1929. Abbott was furthermore secretary to the dean of Sciences at McGill University. Abbott returned to performance with the Guild in the 1950s, working until her death in 1955.

She married John Orme Plummer in Quebec City in February 1929. The couple had on bad terms by the decrease of 1929. Their deserted child, the actor Christopher Plummer, was born upon December 13, 1929 in Toronto.
