John Mawurndjul (born 1951) is a highly regarded Australian contemporary Indigenous artist. He uses conventional motifs in enlightened ways to song spiritual and cultural values, and is especially known for his distinctive and advocate creations based on a customary cross-hatching style of bark painting technique known as rarrk.
