Who is Nicholas Roerich?

Nicholas Roerich (; October 9, 1874 – December 13, 1947) – known next as Nikolai Konstantinovich Rerikh (Russian: Никола́й Константи́нович Ре́рих) – was a Russian painter, writer, archaeologist, theosophist, philosopher, and public figure, who in his puberty was influenced by a motion in Russian society a propos the spiritual. He was keen in hypnosis and new spiritual practices and his paintings are said to have hypnotic expression.

Born in Saint Petersburg, to a booming notary public Baltic German father and a Russian mother, Roerich lived in various places in this area the world until his death in Naggar,Himachal Pradesh, India. Trained as an player and a lawyer, his main interests were literature, philosophy, archaeology, and especially art. Roerich was a dedicated dissenter for the cause of preserving art and architecture during era of war. He was nominated several grow old to the longlist for the Nobel Peace Prize.
