This is Vassilios Giavis

Vassilios “Bill” Giavis (born December 21, 1929) is a painter and illustrator of historical sites, diners, people, maritime scenes, cityscapes, and landscapes. He currently resides and works in Lowell and has a studio in the Brush Gallery in downtown Lowell.

His detailed, realistic paintings of scenes throughout the New England Place and Greece are rendered in watercolor, oil and acrylic. Once Giavis has an idea for a painting, it becomes one of a theme series: diners, city halls, people, historic buildings, etc. The focus of one theme produced a series of paintings revolving going on for the dynamism of Lowell born author, Jack Kerouac: birthplace, church, high school, various hangouts, and his memorial park.
