Wilhelmina Weber Furlong: life and works

Wilhelmina Weber Furlong (1878–1962) was a German American player and teacher.

Among America’s earliest broadminded elite modernist painters, Weber Furlong was a major American artist who pioneered protester impressionistic and campaigner expressionistic yet life painting at the twist of the twentieth century’s American modernist movement.

She has been called the first female modernist painter in American Modernism. Furlong’s passageway reflects thesame struggles of women artists during the late 1800s and yet to be 1900s who found themselves subjugated to the tastes of realist instructors who opposed both modernism in art and women artists.
