The author’s gallery of Jan Kaj and Jacek Solinsky in Bydgoszcz was founded on June 16, 1979. Together with Jacek Solinsky, he developed and published a series of art monographs dedicated to sophisticated artists

The exhibition was designed by Michael O. Kevenig with Kimsooja. Kevenig opened Kimsooja’s Geometry of Breath exhibition at the Gallery. In the lobby on the top floor of the exhibition, Kimsooja displays a selection from his latest series of prints, The Topology of Time (2016), created from the artist’s early 1990s hair collection. She was recently awarded the Ho-Am Award (2015) and the Asia Society Arts Award in Hong Kong (2017).

A casting captures the artist’s hands when his index fingers meet the thumb, forming a void inside the hand. His paintings are built on the relationship between the face and hands and represent a kind of individual theater. Hair functions in the pictorial space simultaneously as a drawing and an instrument for measuring time.
