Sylvester Stallone is not only an iconic actor that has delighted generations of audiences, he’s also a pretty great screenwriter. His most famous script is probably Rocky, which has lead onto a franchise of followup movies and inspired young boxers ever since.

One thing that many people don’t know about Sylvester Stallone is that he is also a great artist and has exhibited in a solo exhibition in New York with the approval and support of the famous gallerist Georges Bergès. The exhibition was called A Retrospective, 50 Years of Art and featured the actor’s life’s work.

Stallone has a softer, intuitive and creative mind off-screen. He’s been creating art for a long time as well as writing great scripts that have stood the test of time. One of the impressive artworks he did in 1975 titled On Finding Rocky, is particularly interesting. Stallone said in an interview about the artwork that he wanted to picture who this Rocky character was, he wanted to visualize it and so he painted it and soon after wrote the script.

He’s not even done yet and has started filming the Expendables spinoff. At 75 years young there is plenty of fight left in him… what a guy!

Sylvester Stallone – without a doubt – belongs in the Strong Men collection.
