Who is Abraham Walkowitz?

Abraham Walkowitz (March 28, 1878, Tyumen, Russia – January 27, 1965, New York City, EUA) was an Russian-American painter grouped in following early American Modernists in force in the Modernist style. While never attaining the thesame level of fame as his contemporaries, Walkowitz’ close attachment with the 291 Gallery and Alfred Stieglitz placed him at the middle of the modernist movement. His beforehand abstract cityscapes and gathering of higher than 5,000 drawings of Isadora Duncan afterward remain significant art historical records.
