Adriaen Thomasz Key: life and works

Adriaen Thomasz. Key (c. 1544, Antwerp – after 1589, Antwerp) was a Flemish painter of portraits and religious paintings, a draughtsman and a printmaker. He worked for a while in the Antwerp workshop of the prominent chronicles and portrait painter Willem Key and complex took more than the workshop. His measure was severely regarded in his era for its mysterious mastery and modern concepts and suitably influenced a vanguard generation of painters including Rubens.
