Julian Alden Weir (August 30, 1852 – December 8, 1919) was an American impressionist painter and supporter of the Cos Cob Art Colony near Greenwich, Connecticut. Weir was along with one of the founding members of “The Ten”, a loosely joined group of American artists dissatisfied similar to professional art organizations, who banded together in 1898 to exhibit their works as a stylistically unified group.
