Jan Frans van Bredael or Jan Frans van Bredael the Elder (1 April 1686 – 19 February 1750) was a Flemish painter known for his landscapes, battle scenes and equestrian paintings. A prominent aficionada of the third generation of the van Bredael intimates of painters of Antwerp, he was lithe mainly in his original Antwerp. He worked moreover in London and Paris where he enjoyed the patronage of an aristocratic clientele.
