Vladimir Chekalov: life and works

Vladimir Fedorovich Chekalov (Russian: Влади́мир Фё́дорович Чека́лов; July 6, 1922, a village of Novaya-Vyaltsevo, Soligalich county of Kostroma Province, Soviet Russia – 1992, Saint Petersburg, Russian Federation) was a Russian Soviet realist painter and art teacher, who lived and worked in Leningrad. He was a devotee of the Leningrad Union of Artists, and regarded as a representative of the Leningrad college of painting, most famous for his battle and genre paintings.
