Who is Samira Alikhanzadeh?

Samira Alikhanzadeh (born 1967) is an Iranian artiste who lives and works in Tehran.

Born in Tehran, she began painting below the executive of Aydin Aghdashloo. She studied painting at Alzahra University and earned a BFAin Painting in 1996 and an MA in Painting in 1998 at Islamic Azad University.

Alikhanzadeh uses acrylic paint, mirrors and antiquated found images, mainly relatives photographs, in her work. She uses these images from the in the reveal of to question identity and truth in advanced Iran. Some works also add up actual Persian carpets to evoke the past.

Alikhanzadeh’s perform has appeared in exhibitions in the United Arab Emirates, Canada, the United States and France. Her art is included in various collections found in Los Angeles County Museum of Art,Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art, The Devi Art Foundation, and The Farjam Foundation.
